If God was a Child

If God was neither man nor woman, but instead an innocent child. Would loving God be difficult ?

I see innocence in nature and in the world. I see playfulness and joy in every expression of nature. This is the properties of the child. Nature is the expression of God and to love God is to love nature.

To see the whole and to protect it, in the way we live. In the way we take care of it. In the way we take care of each other. Loving an innocent child is not hard. Being an adult and making the good choices in life, is likewise not hard when those choices are based in love.

We all know what virtue is.

Even if we don't see the point of being virtuous, we all know.

We just need a reason to become better. If God is a child.. is it not our sacred duty to protect and nurture that child in the same way we protect and nurture our own children?

If we do, will not the child shower us with love and fill our lives with meaning as our own children do? What if God doesn't demand our love, but instead need it like the child needs the love of its parents?

Would you give it?
See.. if we do not show our love to the child, it will throw some serious temper tantrums, such as the climate crisis and the destruction of nature upon which we depend.

Existence is relational.

What relationships we want to create, is up to us. What consequences we wish to reap, is also up to us. But it is a relationship. By not adhering to this knowledge, we bring the Wrath of God down upon ourselves in the form of self-made crisis, after self-made crisis.

We must begin to act like the adults in the room.

There is a good chance, that is exactly what we're supposed to be.

If not us.. who?
