Are we free?
Someone on Reddit posted a topic which essentially said that we are free to do and be whatever we want, because "we are God". This is essentially true, but I had some objections as to the implications and have outlined them in a reply, which I will post here also:
Go do something truly terrible, and tell me it has no real consequence afterwards, that it leaves no mark on your soul. Don't really do it, but consider it as a thought experiment. That mark also, is real.
What kind of God do you want to be? Because that God you become, might just be the God you will eventually face.
Do unto others dude.
God does not judge you, because he is as you are. He understands you completely, as you understand yourself. You are free it is true. But freedom does not mean "no consequences". Eventually I suspect we will all have to face the man in the mirror, and the question then becomes: What kind of man are you?
Give to the poor, so that he may give to you.
Love everyone so that he may love you.
Forgive everyone so that he may forgive you.
What kind of God do you want to eventually be faced with? Be that God. If we replace the word God with "reality", then the sentence above becomes perhaps more clear.
What kind of reality do you want to eventually be faced with?
There is no judgement in this. Only justice.
In this way we might create our own reality, for better or worse. Essentially, it is karma. Consider how it is often said that "Reality is a mirror" and the implications of it, should it be true.
The microcosm and the macrocosm reflect each other, because reality is fractal.
If there is a "hell", it is only because you are a devil.
