I have had this image of it, as a hole in a screen, with a light shining behind it.

The hole in itself, defines how the light shines but it isn't the hole which is the light, it is just a vortex of ideas, desires, fears, beliefs and all the rest of it that we hold about ourselves, along with our physical form.

A hole is nothing unto itself. There isn't anything there. The ego is the hole in the screen but it is the light that shines through which we actually are.

Living beings of all kinds are in a sense rather like the stars in the night sky.
