There Is Light

I think the "Prayer" series was not complete after all. In the beginning, God said "Let there be light". It has been interpreted as a decree. Even I did that, in my last few posts on prayer.

What if it instead is a calling. What if the "Let there be light" needs an answer. What if keeping the light on is an ongoing responsibility.

What if we all confirmed the call with "There is light".

How would the world change, if we turned on the light that God called for, in the beginning?

I don't know. I am not a "Lightworker". Far from it. These "Lightworkers" are well meaning, but too many of them have not done the work and instead of being grounded in understanding, they are flitting about from meme to meme like bumblebees fly from flower to flower. But I will work to turn on the light. This world has been dwelling in darkness for too long.

I do not know if this is the "truth". But I do know that it would not hurt us to begin to shine a little light in this world. If this is a true interpretation of the "Let there be light" then we turn on the light by being the light in the world that God called us to be. Not a prayer at all, excepting that we make our lives a prayer.

I think this may be close to truth, because at this point prayer has been reduced to being, to kindness, to love, to forgiveness and compassion. The very things Jesus asked of us.

And if that is so, the calling I had to "Teach the people to pray" is a much greater undertaking than I thought. It is nothing less than changing the world completely. Well.. nothing to do except get to work.

It should be said that simply contemplating God is also a form of prayer. It leads to Jnana, knowledge. Perhaps that is the purpose of this site.
