A simple meditation on the numbers 1 and 0.

Everything is reducible to the number 1. One human being, one couple, one community, one school, one country, one continent, one planet, one galaxy, one universe. One consciousness.

All then, is in actuality one.

But what then is 0?

0 is the mystery. The mystery behind the existence of 1.

In us, I think, 0 and 1 exists together as mind and matter. It reminds me of the Taoist idea that the Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao - 1 is what we see, but 0 is the ungraspable truth behind it.

1 has properties and form, where 0 lacks all that. But precisely because 0 lacks that, 1 has it. So then, even 0 and 1 together is 1. They are not separate, not truly. 1 exists because of 0, and 0 is recognized only in relation to 1.

Like Yin and Yang, their seeming opposition is an illusion - they complete each other, making a whole.

That whole, is what you are.

It is you.
