Extremes of Unity and Individuality
Why is extreme unity and extreme individuality the same thing?
I would say that both states, result in there only being you. In this state, there is only loneliness to be found.
Yes, reality is one and that is the truth, but somehow we walk the middle path between unity and individuality which is relationship and it is good, I think.
A being at either extreme would probably suffer such pain of loneliness that they would do anything to return to the middle path where it is in flux, undecided. Only there, are we not alone.
God, if he is truly one, would do anything. Anything at all, to not be alone. This is my gut feeling about it. He would endure all hardships, all suffering to avoid the pain of a solitary existence.
In a sense, I feel sorry for God. That, I think, is where love comes from. God loves us, because through us he is not alone. That is the life I, you and everyone lives. It is Gods escape from loneliness. But in escaping that loneliness, he would have to forget about his eternal nature.
Or so I think. What then can this teach us?
Compassion. Love. Understanding. Appreciation for life, in all its endless forms.
Perhaps if we all knew this, we would begin to care for one another rather than kill each other.
Such actions are not inherently human, but born from ignorance of our true being. In rediscovering the truth of ourselves we may consciously walk the middle path between individuality and unity.
Respecting the individuality of another, yet seeing the unity behind it in which we are one.
