When God and the Devil do battle on a battlefield, you are neither of them.

You are the field upon which the battle rages. Simply a witness to the drama.

Can the Devil tempt the ground upon which he stands? Does the ground need salvation?

The ground upon which the battle rages, is Brahman. Impersonal and formless. It simply watches and witnesses. It is beyond judgement, and it is beyond temptation. Yet it is the root and cause of both judgement and temptation.
