The will is not free. The will is not bound.

If everything we do is a choice, then we have no choice but to choose. And if we must choose, the foundation of free will crumbles because we cannot choose not to choose.

It is often said that "Life is a series of choices," but I believe this is inaccurate. Life is a single happening, perceived as a series of choices. In reality, it is a single occurrence where no true choice exists. Like a movie, it feels interactive and immersive, creating the illusion of autonomy and choice. In reality, no such thing exists.

But even that, is perhaps inaccurate and falls into the trap of seeing things as black or white. If the law of polarity applies universally, which I believe to be true, then life must be both a single thing where determinism is the only truth, and a series of choices where free will is the only truth.

This kind of fits into how our life is perceived. I can choose to eat an ice cream, but I cannot choose whether or not I have to wake up in the morning.

So where we exist, is the perfect temperature for life. The optimal conditions. Neither absolute heat, nor absolute cold. We live in a tempered zone between determinism and free will. Like our planet itself, we exist in a sort of "philosophical goldilocks zone" where conditions are perfect for exactly us.

Not free, not bound.

Not this, not that.
