The Mind of God - and you

Imagine the unbroken Mind of God as a vast, silent field of consciousness.
Within it, a multitude of little boxes. Each box holds a life. A soul. One of them is yours. In it, you've stored your experiences, your beliefs, your joys and griefs. All that you call "me" lives there.

But the box is not separate from the field. It is made of the field.

This is what we call individuality. It gives the illusion of separation. It lets the One pretend to be many. And in that pretending, something beautiful emerges: relationship, reflection, learning, love.

God watches through every eye. Writes these words with my hand. Reads them with yours.

And just like that, thoughts ripple from box to box. If the field were broken, no ripple would travel. Connection is only possible because, beneath it all, we are still one.

Some say mind-reading isn't real. But perhaps it depends on what we mean by "mind" and "reading." After death, the boxes may loosen. The boundaries may thin. We remember what we forgot: that no thought was ever truly ours or theirs. They were the thoughts of the One, flowing through form.

If you could read my thoughts, would you know they were mine?

Without the membrane between us, there would be no "me," no "you". Only That Which Is. The thoughts wouldn't belong to either of us. They would belong to no one and everyone.

The boxes we inhabit are not prisons. They are gifts. Without them, there would be only One here. And that would be loneliness.

Yes, God simply is. But He is not only One. He is One and Many. That’s why there is this dance, this illusion, this world. So that the alone might know love. So that the still might move. So that the One might remember itself. Through you. Through me.

Disagree if you must. That too is a ripple. A blessing. Your right to disagree is what makes plurality possible, even in unity.

And if something in these words stirs a knowing within you, sit with it a little longer. The field is always listening.
