In trying to understand God we become more like that which we believe him to be. If in your eyes God is love, you too become more love. If you believe him to be wisdom, you too become more wise.

We mirror that which we turn ourselves towards, as apparent in the saying "The mind is a mirror". If we mirror other people, we get fashion and we mirror them. Cultures form in this way, by people mirroring each other.

Put God first. Seek him first. He is the highest ideal to which we can aspire. In trying to understand him, we ourselves grow, our souls stretch, quite literally like a flower towards the sun. What else are we here for, except the souls growth?

What would happen to our societies if we all mirrored God first rather than each other?

Peace. Harmony. Understanding. Compassion. Empathy. Agape love.

Imagine two mirrors pointing at each other. There's nothing really there but endless reflections. But if the mirrors were turned towards the sun, they would be filled.
