Our programming

A human being consists of the hardware which is the body, and the software which is our collective accumulated experience. Life has in a sense programmed us to become, what we are.

A bad breakup, a commercial success, a chance encounter with a drug. These are subroutines within the program called "ego". As someone who has been working with software for a long time, I find it fascinating to realise that psychology shares an awful lot of similarities with software debugging.

Also it is interesting to contemplate that on a PC I can start a program which overloads the hardware and causes it to overheat and crash.

I never expected my experience with programming to be so relevant in understanding people, and understanding myself.

But it is. Strangely so.

To discover this parallel also makes me think that the years spent working with software, somehow was meant to be.

Part of a greater design. But of course, I don't believe there exists such a thing as chance.
