Original Sin

Why should one disbelieve the concept of the "Original Sin" of Adam and Eve ? It becomes clear when phrased like this:

For God so loved the world that he set a trap for his proudest creation and punished them like a jealous, spiteful jackass when they fell for his trap.

In my opinion, the concept of "original sin" is a lie and a fabrication designed to make people bow and obey the church, rather than serving God. Paul created the foundation for this, and Augustine later developed the idea.

All of this was necessary in order to build and defend the idea that "Jesus died for our sins", which was part of the scheme to turn Jesus into God, which in itself is a form of idolatry which Jesus would find abhorrent. I find many of the teachings of Jesus valuable and insightful, but I reject the claim that he died for our sins.

In fact I find the whole thing incredibly distasteful and based upon either lack of understanding, or alternatively something worse - intent.

Jesus was the Son of God. But contrary to popular belief, he was not the only one.

We are all his children, and it seems to me part of the churches agenda has been to rob us of that understanding.
