People struggle with the perceived lack of meaning in the universe. This struggle expresses itself in ideologies like nihilism, they say "Nothing matters, the universe is completely indifferent and you are but a speck of dust in the infinitely large".

Others struggle with the perceived meaning in everything. Every breath we take, means something. Changes something. Affects the all. Every action we take ripples through the all and causes changes. This struggle expresses itself through ideologies like Christianity, with its heaven and hell, the ultimate consequences.

In actuality however both are true. The universe is entirely meaningless. And everything matters immensely.

The struggle people experience, is with the nature of the self. Your nature is dual and every opposite exists in equal measure. Within your human form, and in the totality of your being.

You are neither angel nor demon, yet you contain both. Try to deny one, and watch the opposite rise in rebellion within. Have you ever wondered how people who identify as good, is so capable of doing evil and remain blind to their actions? That is the rebellion.

But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.

Would you say "raca" to the demon within? Would you take the role of the court and condemn a part of yourself? If you would, there is suffering.

But if you can come to understand both, embrace both.. both the infinite meaning and the infinite meaninglessness at once..
Then the struggle ceases and these ideologies start to look somewhat immature to your eyes. That is the non-dual position. It can not be definitely proven that the universe is meaningless and nothing matters. Nor can it be proven that everything matters and nothing is meaningless. As long as we attempt to decide if one or the other is true, that which is true evades us and we are divided.

Truth is not one side of the opposition. It is the capacity to contain both without dividing
