If a spiritual teaching or insight causes you to remain indifferent in the face of injustice, cruelty, racism, bigotry, violence or it causes you to consider it "unimportant" - then that teaching/insight is either not understood or it is false.

Are you indifferent, or are you detached? It is a major difference. An important distinction.
