Imagine you are..
God.
Don't imagine it in a grand sense, like we tend to do when being told this, with angelic voices and golden halos. Not in the "creation must bow to me" kind of way. No, not that at all. Imagine you are a more down-to-Earth God. One who lives among his or her creation. One who until now has been entirely unaware that they are God.
Imagine it like Shania Twain did.. "What if God was one of us, just a slob like one of us" - but being entirely unaware that you are God. No late night phone-calls to the Pope. The Pope doesn't know you either.
Imagine that.
Now imagine something else. That every little choice you make, whether rooted in love or fear, decides the direction of the world. Not in an explicit way, like "I decide there will be a war there!" or "People must love each other!". No.. not that at all.
Imagine instead that every kind word, changes the world. That it alters the trajectory of the world slightly towards love. Imagine that every hateful word, similarly acts as a rudder, slightly shifting the world towards hatred, division and strife. Can your small life, so seemingly insignificant, be the cause of global peace or war?
Imagine that it can. Imagining that it can, adds the proper gravity to your every-day choices. Imagining that, makes you responsible for everything you do. No longer can you think that your actions have no consequence. No longer can you nurture hate, without also expecting a world filled with hatred. Not while imagining that.
There. Now you are aware.
Now there are no more excuses.
Every choice we make, every action and thought we have, changes the course of Spaceship Earth. So we should manage our thoughts and actions, and come to know ourselves deeply. Otherwise, Spaceship Earth is without a captain who knows the waters of the Self.
I know what you are capable of. Both the good, and the bad. I also know you can do better. I’m not going to force you. I’m going to tell you the truth and let you decide.
