What I find strange, is that people do not realize that the rules dictators put in place, are as illusory as the rules they replace, and dictators are as easily replaced as the rulers they themselves replaced.

Watching Donald Trump disregard the Constitution without a second thought, I ask myself, what is to prevent people from disregarding him without a second thought? Or Putin?

It is people who have the power. They have the power to allow themselves to be ruled, and the power to refuse to be ruled. When the rule is unjust and destructive, it may be time to refuse to be ruled.

People who believe themselves to be powerless, are powerless. Most don’t want the responsibility that comes with power. They fear the uncertainty that comes with self-determination more than they fear oppression. And so, the game continues.

Until we become fearless. Or have nothing left to lose. Which might be the same thing.

But what the fuck do I know.
