When people say they have agency over their mind... I would like to dare you:

Believe in Santa Claus. Right now.

You cannot, because the conditions for belief are not present. You are not in control of your beliefs. They arise, when the conditions are present.

Likewise, we cannot change our minds. When the conditions for change are present, the mind changes. It is not "you" who do it.

You are not in control of your life. The universe is. And the universe is who you really are. So you are in control of your life. Paradoxical, I know.

When the conditions for that understanding are present, you begin to trust the universe. Not by choice. There is never a choice. None of us ever have a choice. Instead, you trust because the conditions for trust are present through understanding.

Free will - is an illusion. But that illusion is a blessing, because being all-knowing and all-powerful is quite boring. There is nothing at all to do, when everything is known and everything is done. That our lives are unknown to us, introduces the illusion of free will.

And all of the above, is why we should not judge anyone. Ever. We can hold them responsible for their actions, but that is not judgement. Judgement is condemnation, where we condemn their very essence. It says, you are wrong at your very core. Judgement is wanting someone to suffer eternally for temporal mistakes.

But their essence is your essence. So it is yourself you condemn to that suffering.

Like Jesus said. "For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again." - Matthew 7:2

And if you've read through all of this, then the conditions for change are present. Will you change your mind? .. I ask - as if you had a choice. I should know better.
