Freedom
Freedom is to admit to oneself that there is very little we are in actual control over. Such an admition allows us to relax in our own head, it allows us to enjoy the ride, smell the roses, see the beauty.
If the universe is a living being, then it is appropriate to consider oneself to be in a sense as a cell in the body of this being. The cell does not decide which nutrients it is provided. It does not determine what the body does, it has absolutely zero control over the body. It is there for one purpose only, to support the body by its very existence. Without the cell, the being could not exist.
Consider for a moment that all the things you feel moved to do, does not originate in or from you. Consider that the actions you perform, is not ultimately for you, but for the body. How you perceive them, wether good or bad, is of little consequence and only cause you misery.
Such freedom requires us to stop judging things and admit to ourselves that we do not know the ultimate reason why things happen as they do and so we should not judge them, neither in ourselves nor in others. It is right to stand up against what is wrong, but we should do so in a detached, non-judgemental manner, where we do not allow the outcome to cause us suffering, whatever it may be.
Consider the yin and the yang. Neither the yin, nor the yang can "win". Only the circle encompassing them, who does not judge either part as superior, can possibly be at peace. The movements within does not change it at all. You be the circle. See both the yin and the yang within yourself, and embrace them both equally. Is the circle moved by the black fish eating the white ? Is it moved by the white fish eating the black ? The circle recognises these aspects of itself, as itself and arent repelled by it. If one however sees oneself as the black, the white becomes an enemy. If one sees oneself as white, the black becomes an enemy.
It is foolish to make an enemy of oneself. I believe this to be the Peace of God
